  • bloglines - if you're like me, you have several blogs from friends and others and several news type sites you visit everyday. bloglines is an online rss feed aggregator that grabs the articles from sites like publish feeds(like this very site you are reading), shows when they are updated and displays them all in one handy layout. i've also tried google's online news reader and another that i can't recall, and so far i like bloglines the best.
  • i want to... - a neat, simple page that lists a variety of sites, resources, and progs that perform common functions. high recommendation.
  • craigslist: birmingham, AL - a popular combination classified, discussion forum, personals, etc. site that finally set up a birmingham site recently.
  • pocketmod - i guess i'm a huge dork, but i think there is something really cool about this site. basically the site is a flash app that creates disposable one-time use planners using only one sheet of paper. you can use the provided templates or you can 'roll your own'.
  • onebag.com - i am my mother's son, which means i also inherited her tendency to overpack. this site is a great resource if you are like me and are looking for tips and tricks and advice on how to pack light.
  • ask.metafilter - a site to go ask questions of the interweb and read the questions and answers of others.
  • calendar.yahoo.com - rememberthemilk.com - backpackit.com - three online organizational sites. yahoo and remember the milk will send sms messages to your phone or send e-mail to you to remind you of appointments, or anything else really. backpackit and rememberthemilk provide services for managing to-do lists online.
  • reddit.com - diggdot.us - reddit is a 'democratic' news site, meaning that the users pick which stories get pushed up to the front. if you want to know what everybody else is reading and linking to, reddit is the place to go. diggdot.us aggregrates digg.com, slashdot.com and del.icio.us onto one page. useful for me anyway.
  • the usable home - i love lifehacker.com. this story is a great example why. if you like lifehacker, check out lifehack.org.
  • live simple e-book - handy aggregation(i love that word) of tips on how to strip your life of clutter and waste.
  • the altoids tin survival kit -james macdonald's jump kits - self explanatory
